A sprawling area of high pressure will dominate the mid-Atlantic weather pattern for the next several days. Overnight lows will fall into the 70s under mainly clear skies. Monday will bring the first influx of hot and humid air as afternoon temperatures soar into the lower to middle 90s.
The heat and humidity will build with the hottest days Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Afternoon highs will be in the middle to upper 90s with heat index at or above 100 degrees. The National Weather Service may issue a Heat Advisory for urban areas.
